Pedrollo PKm 60 domestic pressure pump

Pedrollo PKm 60 pump

The Pedrollo PKm 60 pump is the smallest peripheral impeller pump manufactured by Pedrollo, Italy. The relatively high pressure, low flow water pump is deal for small boilers and water transfer applications. This small 1″ PKm 60 pump with a one inch inlet and outlet fluid port is the choice for small pressure boosting systems. Many water tanks in South Africa are equipped with the Pedrollo PKm 60.

Pedrollo PK series for small scale irrigation

The pump is ideal for driving two taps on at any one time. Small gardens and irrigation systems benefit from the units relatively high pressure supply especially for sprinklers.

Peripheral Impeller

Pedrollo PKm 60 leads the series in terms of volume of sales. This popular small pump has been copied but never equaled by many other manufacturers. The peripheral impeller functions like a turbine with cupped vanes on the periphery of a disc. One of the characteristics of this unit is that it does not handle solids at all. The close tolerances between the pump body and the impeller disc necessary for high pressure, cannot handle any form of solid particle.

Use of these pump units is strictly limited to very clean water or other fluids.

Solar water transfer

The Pedrollo Pk series and especially the smaller motors are available in 220 volt, 3 phase. This is ideal for coupling the unit to an inverter and especially for solar systems. Typically solar systems are built in two major configurations, those that use batteries and those that don’t. The PK range of 3 phase peripheral pumps because of their relatively high heads and low power consumption are perfect.

The Pk series is capable of handling water to 60 degree C. This makes the pumps a great choice for bath or shower water pressure. There are few small pumps that will drive two taps at such a great pressure as the PK series from Pedrollo.
