Description

The Pedrollo VX series is a range of cast iron submersible vortex pumps for dirty water, sewage, and drainage containing suspended solids. The VORTEX impeller design creates a rotating liquid column that carries solids through the pump without direct impeller contact — preventing clogging and allowing reliable operation with wastewater, sewage, surface water with grit, and sludge-mixed water. The VX series is a step up from the compact TOP Vortex range, with cast iron construction for heavier-duty fixed and semi-fixed installations.

The VXM 8/35-1 S/T shares all specifications with the standard VXM 8/35 but is supplied complete with a separate float switch and junction box for automatic level control. This makes it ideal for permanent unattended sump installations where the pump must start and stop automatically based on water level without manual intervention.

The separate float switch can be positioned independently of the pump, allowing more flexible control of the water level activation point — useful in sumps with irregular geometry or where the standard integral float switch mounting position does not give the desired activation level.
